Anderson is an illustrator who is used to creative thinking, flexibility and the pressure of deadlines, due to a long association with daily newspapers. As illustrator for the highly succesful Cadbury Time Out launch, he helped drive that product to number one seller in Canada. He has also worked for such clients as General Mills, Compaq Computers and Acrostar Productions. Editorial illustration, be it for magazines, trade publications or newspaper is executed in a light, whimsical yet confident style.

BIOGRAPHY
David Anderson freelances as a cartoonist and illustrator in Toronto and has appeared in many of Canada's major newspapers while doing a variety of advertising and editorial work. He is syndicated worldwide through Cartoonists and Writers Syndicate in New York. Winner of The Duncan McPherson award for cartooning 1998, The Fraser Institute award (Economy in Government) 1996, The Standard Bank Cartoon of the year 1983 and 1984 amongst others. He published 'The Cartoons of Andy' in 1990. His work can also be seen regularly in the Canadian Association of Editorial Cartoonists annual 'Portfoolio'.
Anderson immigrated to
Canada with his wife and three sons in 1990. From there he faxed and then
e-mailed two editorial cartoons a week back to the Johannesburg Star
for the next twelve years. Appointed Editorial Cartoonist and Graphics Editor
to the Star (South Africa's largest daily paper) in 1984, he held that
position until moving to Canada.
In 1980 The Rand Daily Mail (South Africa's anti apartheid mouthpiece)
employed Anderson as its cartoonist until its closure in 1984. He has also
held that position at the Sunday Times and the Pretoria News
where he started out in 1978.
